My approach is client-centred, so each session may be different depending on what issues arise in your art making or discussion about your process. For each one hour session, you may spontaneously decide which materials to work with and how, or you may prefer that I suggest an activity. Sessions conclude by reviewing your process and what you’ve made. The questions I ask are intended to increase your self-understanding, including identifying your strengths and resources for healing.
Benefits: Therapeutic art making offers opportunities of self-discovery through unconscious thoughts and feelings expressed in the art; improved self-awareness and understanding; and the physical experience of art making through which trauma stored in the body can be expressed.
